Spreading the News

At first it seemed overwhelming to have to tell all my family and friends in a special way, that we were going to be parents!  Did I have to phone everyone one by one?  Let people find out on Facebook?  I polled a couple mommy friends and they confirmed that whatever I did, I was sure to annoy or insult someone.  So with that in mind, and a whole lot of ideas from Pinterest, we started to spread the word.  Order doesn't really matter, what mattered to me was having fun with it.  We are toward the end of the friends and family list now.  Almost done, once it's on Facebook, you'll know that most people I wanted to tell personally, I did.

Here's some highlights:

The Family:

Tried to make it special with goody bags and such.  Also snapped some great surprised face shots!

"Hey mom, thanks for coming over to help me fill out this family medical history.
I want to make sure I do it well because...I'M PREGNANT!"

"The best sisters get promoted to AUNT"

"You're o"fish"ally going to have a grand baby!"

Friends:

I used a variety of printable ideas from Pinterest.  Beer tags, candy notes, mad libs...

"I had a lot of fun picking out the perfect beer to  go with this note: Fatty Boombalatty!"

Inspirations and Printables from Pinterest:

I did this mad lib for a friend without telling the title.  Then I read to them it with their name in the first slot and waited for them to take the hint. ;-)

This one was my favorite.  I love giving and getting candy!

I made a similar tag to attach to a box of tea for another friend.

Swedish fish are delicious!  Also, "You are o"Fish"ally going to be an Aunt.

Belly Bump Beginings

At first we were good at taking belly shots every week or two but as it seemed to us that nothing was really changing, we slowed down on that.  Truth be told, I have only the smallest baby bump so far at 14 weeks in.  It seems to start high and looks like a bit of water bloat or a small beer belly but there's a baby brewing in there instead.  At this point, the baby is about the size of a naval orange but there's not much to see.  All of my clothes are still fitting fine and on some days, with a tight t-shirt, it seems more pronounced.  But I'm not worried.  Though I'm excited to sport a big belly bump, I know I'll have many months of that down the road and might not want to rush to get there.

Caught in the Act

Cute photo I caught of Adrien browsing the crib section of the Ikea catalog.  Adorable!  He claims it was just by happenstance but... :-)
